Eurovision Song Contest 2013: The Results
Denmark won this year’s Eurovision Song Contest with Emmelie De Forest’s song “Only Teardrops“, despite tough competition from spectacular stage shows by performers from Azerbaijan and Ukraine.
Plutonic Group UK submitted a wide variety of songs, during the early selection period with three of their tracks making it to the second or third rounds – which is no small feat!
This past November, the Belgian broadcaster, RTBF, held a press conference in order to present their internal selection and to announce that a three-song radio selection would take place in order to select the song.
In December, their entrant, Roberto Bellarosa, the first winner of The Voice Belgique, performed three songs during a live radio show on the official website of RTBF. Initially, record label Sony Music presented six candidate songs, and the broadcaster’s jury selected three of these to go through the national final. The song titles were revealed on December 11th – one of which, was written by Rudden+Bridge! [‘Be Heroes’]
|Draw||Artist||Song||Songwriter | Lyricist|
|1||Roberto Bellarosa||“Love Kills“||Immonen/Farquharson|
|2||Roberto Bellarosa||“Reste toi”||Jeremy Chapon|
|3||Roberto Bellarosa||“Be Heroes”||Rudden+Bridge|
The combination of public (50%) and professional jury (50%) votes resulted in the selection of “Love Kills“, music and lyrics by as the winning song.
Though their track wasn’t selected for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, it was however chosen as a single on Roberto’s new album, “Ma Voie” on iTunes. Beanz mixed and produced the ‘London Underground Mix’ for the video…
Beanz would like to thank his writing partner, Loz Bridge, his former Love City Groove bandmate, Paul Hardy [background vocals] and all of the PlutonicGroup songwriting team for their input and assistance!
For now, everyone will relax and regroup later this summer to prepare for Eurovision 2014 – see you in Denmark!

For some time now, The Eurovision Song Contest has been celebrated more for its kitsch than the quality of the songs themselves, with the winning ‘best song in Europe’ usually falling short to make much of a headway on the mainstream charts. But a change is in the air. Recent winners have enjoyed huge tour and chart successes across Europe and beyond, and the success has heightened the competitiveness, seeing nations entrants ever more determined to find a that ‘perfect’ song to represent them. As such Eurovision is becoming a contest for what it was meant to be, a contest of song and the songwriters.
So now in 2012, you will find Plutonic Group UK and its team of international collaborators, feverishly penning lyrics and melodies for Eurovision Song Contest 2013!
No stranger to this festival of song ~ Beanz Rudden, might best be known as the man behind the revolutionary UK Top 5 chart hit “Love City Groove” – the first rap song in the history of the highly influential song contest to be chosen to represent the U.K. With this and the 1998 ‘Song 4 Europe’ entry of the ‘When We’re Alone (We Dream)‘ by The Collective, Rudden and Eurovision continue to cross paths in the songwriting world!
Rudden+Bridge have written, produced, mastered and submitted tracks to Norway, Denmark with more on the soundboard to send as more countries announce the opening of their national selections. An awe-inspiring ballad , ‘I Know‘, written by Rudden was presented to J. Miles, an up and coming singer from Essex whose version (with background vocals by LCG bandmate, Paul Hardy and Maltese singer, Malcolm Pisani) has been submitted to Switzerland.
