SYNC REPRESENTATION FOR THE MASTER RIGHTS.
We are proud to represent ‘All of My Heart’ by the band, ABC, for sync placement opportunities. This is the original recording of their 1982 hit single with the band own the masters.
The early 80s New Pop era contains many wonders, but the ballad, ‘All of My Heart‘ is an epic, gorgeously realized standout. Arguably the masterpiece became the final single taken from The Lexicon of Love and that also reached the top 10.
“To be honest, I thought All of My Heart was rather weak at first. That’s until Trevor added the dramatic pause at the end of the chorus, before the line ‘all of my heart’. We then mixed in some timpani, while the fadeout gave me a chance to create an English pastoral moment”, recalled Anne Dudley.
There’s a lot going on. Martin Fry’s heat-of-the-moment broken-hearted lyrics, his thrilling vocal performance, and the thundering synth and orchestral roar that accompanies him.
In the end, it was probably Martin’s best vocal performance, and it became a stand-out song. But the tracks were all outstanding, Martin’s witty and effortless lyrics encapsulating the trials of young love.”
In 2005, Jess Harvell of Pitchfork Media listed “All of My Heart” as his favourite UK song of the post-punk “New pop” era, describing it as “ABC’s slickest and most gorgeous single, and yet also possibly their most bitter.”
Harvell wrote: “Martin Fry alternates between open-hearted and suspicious, warm and resentful with the turn of a phrase. The outro–a swirl of soundtrack strings, plucked bass, and cascading piano–is the most purely beautiful music of the era.“
