Holy Hollow (Day Seven)
On his fourth album, ‘Welcome Oxygen’, Will Samson bids farewell to the minimal electronics and wide-ranging soundscapes that are so characteristic of his previous work. He can nevertheless flawlessly compensate for any lack thereof with a substitute and refined ensemble of singing, guitar and textured electro parts with the track, ‘Holy Hollow (Day Seven)‘.
The subtle blend of a tender, shimmering guitar that shines like sparkles — sparkling deep blue water under a clear full moon. ‘Holy Hollow (Day Seven)‘ resonates through a tingling brand of haunting lo-fi electronics, an eerily mesmerizing theremin and a brittle, decayed piano ambience with the hushed whisper of Samson’s sweet voice creating a melancholic dusky atmosphere.
We can imagine quite a lot of people falling deeply in love with this song.
Fans of the melancholic genre are well catered for here…
